HR Solutions Center (HRSC) facilitates the process for assisting employees with requests for ADA accommodations. HRSC is responsible for coordinating compliance with the non-discrimination requirements contained in Department of Justice regulations for implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by public agencies, and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 which further clarifies disability qualifications and coverage of impairments for accommodation.
NOTICE UNDER THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT and the ADA Amendment Act
In accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), the Maricopa County Community Colleges District (MCCCD) will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs or activities. Who is protected?
Employment discrimination is prohibited against “qualified individuals with disabilities.” This includes applicants for employment and all current employees. MCCCD does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices as put forth by the EEOC under Title I of the ADA.
